Fiber Optic Splice Tray

Fiber optic splice tray is used in optical distribution frame, terminal box, and splice closures. The compact size 12 and 24 fiber compact splice cassettes designed for simple, cost effective low and mid-sized fiber splicing applications.

Product Details:

  • 12-pair fiber optic connection and distribution module
  • Designed for patching and splicing in the ODF system
  • Cable storage and splice are both in front
  • Longer bending radius for fiber, Easy operation of pigtails
  • Suitable for all kinds of equipment designed according to 19″ machine frame standard, and can be easily disposed of for particular needs
  • The fusing distribution board of the unit box is double side structure, integrating the fusing and distribution into one unity, suitable for ribbon or non-ribbon optical fiber cable
  • Every board can be clamped with 12 FC or SC or LC or ST adaptors which bevel the face side at 30 degrees

Types of Fiber Optic Distribution Frame

According to the structure, ODFs can mainly be divided into three types, namely Rack-mount ODF, Wall-mount ODF, and Cabinet-mount ODF.

Cabinet-mount Optic Distribution Frame

How to configure a Rack-mount ODF or Fiber Optic Patch Panel?

Step 1: You need to choose the integral splicing tray which with 12 fibers or 24 fibers, which can be flexibly installed into the Rack-mount ODF, and the fiber optic patch panel has already deployed the splice tray for the 19inch 1U size for 12 fiber or 24 fiber.

Remark: An ODF with ports of duplex LC adapter size can be installed with duplex LC/SC adapters. An ODF with ports of ST adapter size can be installed with both ST adapters and FC adapters

Step 2: Choose the correct connectors for the Splicing Tray, it supports LC/SC/ST/FC adapters which shows below.

LC connector
1.25mm LC is mainly used for matching SFP/SFP+/XFP transceivers. Higher-density connections.
SC connector
2.5 mm SC is mainly used for EPON, GPON, GBIC, X2, and XENPAK transceivers, telecom, and datacom.
ST connector
2.5 mm ST is mainly used for Military, campuses, FTTH, datacom, and corporate networks.
FC connector
2.5 mm FC is mainly used for Telecom, datacom, single-mode lasers, and measurement equipment.

Step 3: Choose the polish type of connectors. There are two types of connector polish, UPC and APC.

Two Polish Types for Various Signal Sensitivity Demands.
Please Note. UPC and APC connectors couldn't be mated together - they are not compatible with each other.
No angles, with high return loss than APC polishment, are mainly used for used for TV, telephony, and data systems.
With 8 degrees angle, has better performance(lower return loss) than APC, which is mainly used for FTTH, PON, WDM systems, etc.

Step 4: According to the number of fiber strands, Optic fiber patch cords with connectors can have two types of strands: simplex or duplex.

Choose which type of strands you will need, Simplex or Duplex?

simplex connector

Simplex

A simplex cable has one single strand of fiber with one simplex connector on each end. One end is a transmitter, the other end is the receiver, and these are not reversible. This is commonly used for Bidirectional (BIDI) fiber optic transceivers. Simplex cables are less expensive and can transmit at higher speeds.
Duplex connector

Duplex

A duplex cable has two strands of fibers with a duplex fiber optic connector, One strand transmits one way, and the other strand transmits back the opposite way. This is a huge advantage over simplex because it can transmit simultaneous bidirectional data. This is a huge advantage over Simplex because it can transmit simultaneous bidirectional data.

Step 5: According to the fiber count capacity, you can choose the fiber from 12 to 144 depending on your requirements. Also depending on the number of splicing trays.
